One of the most popular Christmas tipples

worldwide is, of course, eggnog – a thick, creamy drink with origins in medieval Europe, where its precursor may have been invented by monks. I can't find a specific emissions calculation for this drink, but the inclusion of animal products such as eggs (0.85kg Co2e, if they're free range) and cream (2.14kg Co2e) will whack it up considerably. The same is true for coffee liqueur with cream – another favourite, if its visibility in supermarkets at this time of year is anything to go by – which has a sizeable carbon footprint (3.39kg Co2e per kg).
